Social medias services on Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp and messenger were restored following its outage on mid Monday.

The platforms crashed earlier on Monday, with users unable to send or receive messages or refresh their news feeds.

Following its resumption, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg posted on Facebook informing of its restoration.

“Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and Messenger are coming back online now.” read the statement

The CEO further apologized to the users noting that the team was working to find a solution around it to avoid further breakdowns

“Sorry for the disruption today – I know how much you rely on our services to stay connected with the people you care about.”

The exact cause of outage is yet to be ascertained, in a statement, it was reported that it was caused by a faulty configuration change.

It further divulged that there was no data compromise while the services were down.

“We also have no evidence that user data was compromised as a result of this downtime.” Read the statement.

A similar fate with the three apps was recorded in April 2019, when they crashed for around two hours before returning to being fully functional.
