Sony Sugar’s stay in the Kenyan topflight football league came to an end on Thursday after the Millers failed to show up for a league showdown against Zoo Kericho at the Kericho Green Stadium.
The cash-strapped Millers had already dished out two walkovers- to Tusker FC and AFC Leopards and were riding on their last chance.
Kenya Premier League CEO Jack Oguda, coming out clear on the fate of Sony Sugar and any other side that fails to honour matches.
“The rules states that if the club missed three games in a season, they are relegated to the National super league,” he said.
Fellow Millers Chemelil Sugar who are feeling financial crunches also failed to honour their midweek match against KCB and are left with once chance after earlier failing to show up at Mbaraki in Mombasa for a league duel against Bandari.
