KCB’s hopes of securing Champions League football took a knock after a 1-0 FKF Premier League loss at home to Sofapaka at Ruaraka Grounds on Saturday afternoon.

The league leaders came into the game pre-match favourites and on the back of an emphatic 3-0 win over Bandari, but finished the game second best after Lawrence Juma struck in the 35th minute on his way to winning the man of the match award.

KCB remain at the top of the standings with 36 points from 18 rounds, but could fall to third if AFC Leopards (at home to Bidco United) and Tusker (away to Vihiga United) win their games on Sunday.

Meanwhile Sofapaka who recorded a fifth win of the campaign, rise a place up to 11th with 22 points from 18 matches.

At the Utalii Grounds, Nairobi City Stars won 2-1 away to Kariobangi Sharks.
