Former Kenyan Premier League (KPL) champions Sofapaka have roped defender Isaac Mitima from Rwandan club Armee Patriotique Rwandaise Football on a three-year deal.

According to Citizen Digital, the 2009 KPL champions parted ways with one million Kenyan shillings to snap up the defender as they continue to beef up their squad for a potential title challenge next season.

“Mitima is now our player after signing a three-year contract with us, he is still processing a few documents in his country due to Covid-19 restrictions. We are expecting him in the country to join the team before Monday,” Sofapaka head coach John Baraza is quoted by Citizen Digital.

Heaping praise to the new addition, Baraza confirmed that Batoto Ba Mungu will be going for the title.

“He is an experienced defender who will help in tightening our back four; his signing is good news to us and the fans at large because he will strengthen the team. The league title is top of our priority and it is the reason why we are going for players who can help us achieve that,” the four-time KPL top scorer revealed.
