The Taifa Stars captain joined the Villa Park outfit this January from Belgian club Genk and was afforded his first appearance against Leicester in a tie which his side advanced into the final of the competition.

10-man Bournemouth battled their way past Aston Villa to go above their opponents into 16th position thanks to Goals from Philip Billing and Nathan Ake which was enough to earn them a win despite a last-gasp debut goal for Mbwana Samatta.
