World record holder Eliud Kipchoge was beaten in the London Marathon as Shura Kitata won a thrilling sprint finish to claim an unexpected victory ending the dominace of the Kenyan.

Towering Kenyan runner Vincent Kipchumba came out second, clocking 02:05:42 just a second shy off Kitata.

Kenya and Ethiopia dominated the 40th London Marathon as world record holder Eliud Kipchoge finished 8th.
