Outspoken Portuguese football manager Jose Mourinho has landed a new job just days after being sacked by English side Tottenham Hotspurs for what the club termed as an indifferent run of results.
The former Manchester United lead man has joined talkSPORT radio station as a pundit, a field he is no stranger.
Mourinho will be part of the team geared towards provide extensive coverage of this summer’s European Championships.
“Jose Mourinho is a box office signing for talkSPORT. His experience and insight will be fascinating for talkSPORT listeners who will also get an exclusive opportunity to put questions to him in post-match phone-ins,” talkSPORT chief Lee Clayton spoke highly of the man who has three Premier League titles to his name.
In his interview with Sky Sports just moments after his sacking, Mourinho maintained that he would not be taking a break from football, and true to his word, he’s back, quicker than anticipated.
“talkSPORT is the fan’s station and I can’t wait to join in. In my discussions with the team, I can feel their excitement for the Euros. I am thrilled to be part of it,” Mourinho said as he prepares to assume his new role.
Following his exit from Manchester United in December 2018, Mourinho featured on Sky Sports as a pundit and his latest role is a step into familiar territory.
