Star football agent Mino Raiola has passed on after battling for his life for several days in the Intensive Care United (ICU), his family broke the sad news on Saturday afternoon.
It is understood that Raiola who dies aged 54, has been sick for several months and his condition deteriorated recently, seeing him being rushed to the ICU where he fought endlessly until April 30, 2022 when he took his last breath.
“In infinite sorrow we share the passing of the most caring and amazing Football Agent that ever was. Mino fought until the end with the same strength he put on the negotiation tables to defend our players. As usual, Mino made us proud and never realized it,” said a statement by the Raiola Family on Mino Raiola’s official Twitter account.
Until his death, the Italian represented several big names among them Paul Pogba, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Marco Verratti, Gianluigi Donnarumma, Matthijs de Ligt, Erling Haaland and Mario Balotelli.
Raiola was a tough negotiator for his players and his family has eulogized him as a man who spent his life ensuring that the welfare of players is well taken care of and that, that will live on even in his death.
“Mino touched so many lives through his work and wrote a new chapter in the history of modern football. His presence will forever be missed. Mino’s mission of making football a better place for players will continue with the same passion,” the statement adds.
