After an unconvincing start to the season, Gor Mahia which left them in the bottom half of the Betking Premier League and knocked out of both the CAF Champions League and the CAF Confederations Cup, Kenyan champions Gor Mahia are slowly taking shape.

A 1-0 win over Mathare United at Ruaraka Grounds on Wednesday afternoon, sustained K’Ogalo’s perfect return, winning all the five matches since the resumption of the FKF Premier League on May 16.

Since the restart Gor Mahia have roughed up Nairobi City Stars, Sofapaka, Vihiga United, Wazito and Mathare United to rise to fourth on the league standings with 34 points, five points of leaders KCB who have played a game more.

Gor Mahia are also in the FKF Betway Cup final after edging out Bidco United 4-1 on post-match penalties following a 1-1 draw in regulation time and face archrivals AFC Leopards in the final on July 4.

Though K’Ogalo could miss out on Champions League football come June 30, they have  a real chance to play the CAF Confederations Cup by winning the July 4 final.
