Tanzanian President John Pombe Magufuli has for the umpteenth time shocked the world after laying bare his government’s plans of reopening schools and other institutions of learning in a week’s time.
Speaking during a Sunday service, Magufuli said the number of covid-19 infections in Tanzania had greatly reduced and hence his government did not see any need of continued stalling of learning.
“Kama wiki hii tunayoianza kesho itaendelea hivi, nimepanga kufungua vyuo ili wanafunzi wetu waendelee,” he told the congregation.
The Chama cha Maendeleo Party leader read out a list of covid-19 canters where most of the patients had been discharged, noting that God had answered his country’s prayers.
Magufuli also plans to allow the resumption of sporting activities in Tanzania notably the Vodacom Premier League stating that they are an unrivaled form of entertainment.
Lakini nimepanga pia sisi kama taifa kuruhusu michezo iendelee kwa sababu michezo ni sehemu moja ya burudani kwa watanzania,” said Magufuli.
The Tanzanian president who seeks his second term revealed that he had instructed his Ministers to allow the flights into the country as tourists were yearning to flock the country and that the visitors will not be placed under mandatory quarantine upon arrival but will only be subject to temperature checks.
