Transport Cabinet Secretary James Macharia has been given a maximum of 14vdays to appear before the Senate Roads and Transport Committee.
This is after the CS failed to honour Thurday’s sitting, for a third time.
The committee also wants the Ministry of Transport to foot the cost of Mombasa Transport sector stakeholders who had been invited to attend the session.

Macharia was summoned over the tainted image of departments within his docket with the latest being the Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) which has been stung by allegations of graft running into Ksh.2.7 billion.
The move by Macharia to skip the sitting irked the Senators as he had earlier confirmed his attendance.
Present in Thursday’s session was Transport sector stakeholders who had traveled from Mombasa County, the most affected by government port policies which have handed a knock to the county’s economy.
