National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) Vice Chairperson Fatuma Tabwara has died after collapsing at a wedding ceremony in Bowa village in Matuga, Kwale County.

Tabwara collapsed on Sunday morning while attending a wedding ceremony for he niece and was rushed to Diani Cottage Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

“It is true we have lost her, she was pronounced dead on arrival in hospital,” an official from the commission said.

The official said Tabwara was with some of her family members and other relatives at the wedding.

A medical doctor who examined her at the hospital is reported to have informed the family that she suffered a heart attack.

Her body was later taken to her home in Kombani within Kwale County where the family was working on burial arrangements.

Fatuma was part of the new team that took over from the Francis Ole Kaparo’s team on November 21, 2019.
