The perennial battles in Jubilee party have taken another twist after the Party Secretary-General Raphael Tuju published in the local dailies changes to its National Management Committee.
The Tangatanga faction of Jubilee and which is allied to Deputy President William Ruto seems to have been rubbed the wrong way with the developments despite writing in large numbers to the registrar of political parties in protest of the move by Jubilee.
Gatundu South Member of Parliament has clapped back at Tuju insisting that daggers have been drawn and it is time for ‘war’ which will only but end in tears, he says on his Facebook page.
“Despite the ruling by the Registrar of Political Parties, ODM special envoy in Jubilee Raphael Tuju has placed a notice in Saturday papers with the irregular changes in the Jubilee National Management Committee. War has been declared. It will end in tears,” the legislator charged.
In an interview with the Daily Nation, Kimilili MP Didimus Barasa revealed that they will move to court to challenge the changes and also seek to have Tuju vacate office.
The five people who have been appointed to the party’s National Management Committee are James Waweru, Lucy Nyaguthii Macharia, Prof Marete Marangu, Walter Nyambati and Jane Nampato.
According to Tuju, the five were picked way before the coronavirus pandemic.
