The Deputy President William Ruto has been on the receiving end for the past weeks, following allegations that he was involved in the firearms deal scandals.
COTU Secretary General Francis Atwoli seems to be a very furious man, slamming DP Ruto and former Sports CS Rashid Echesa for being linked to a sh. 39 billion fake firearm scandal.
In a press conference, Atwoli said it is not possible how people will access your compound without your consent
“Deputy President wants to tell us that what Echesa and the two whites did in his office for 1 hour and 22 minutes, nobody called him to tell him, they were whites visitors in his house.”
In defense to the allegations investigation that surrounded the scam at his Harambe Annex house in Nairobi, DP Dr Ruto said Echesa and the two visitors were just crooks who had invaded in his compound.
“We appreciate efforts by the Director of Criminal Investigations to investigate the fraudulent access to the office of the Deputy President by crooks and cartels as well as investigations into the murder of Sergeant Kipyegon Kenei.
“The entry into the office of the Deputy President that was aided by some security officers was a breach of security,” reads the statement.
The scandals involving the deal lead to the death of one of the officers who was guarding the place, Sergeant Kipyegon Kenei who was buried at his home in Nakuru on Saturday.
In a CCTV footage that was released by DCI Boss George Kinoti, it suggests that Kenei was part of the plan that saw Echesa use office of the Deputy President and forge signature of Defense CS Monica Juma to fraud a multi billions deal.
