National Super Alliance (NASA) co-principal Musalia Mudavadi has yet again veiled another attack on the moribund coalition’s leader Raila Odinga, barely weeks after unleashed a similar attack through his biographical book titled ‘Soaring Above the Storms of Passion’.
In an exclusive interview with Citizen Tv the Amani National Congress leader Musalia Mudavadi says Odinga who is the man behind the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) alongside President Uhuru Kenyatta is pursuing personal goals.
According to Mudavadi, Odinga is all but after power.
“Eventually, even if we were to have an executive that was slightly altered, let it come because Kenyans believe it is what is good for them, but not because some people have sat somewhere, and said we want to negotiate a structure,” he opined.
The former Sabatia lawmaker also challenged the head of state to crack the whip before he runs out of time. According to Mudavadi the window of opportunity for Kenyatta to get things right was limited to the year 2020 and must therefore make hard and bold decisions.
Mudavadi however rubbished claims that he is a ‘compromised’ leader, instead saying he the sole political fighter for the rights of Kenyans.
“If at all I am being talked about a little more, it is because I believe I am the one addressing the issues that affect the common man more than anyone else, most of the others are dwelling on power structure arrangements,” he said.
In his recent book, which Raila has roundly dismissed, Mudavadi challenged the ODM leader to give his version of events, saying there was nothing personal in what he wrote.
“You have to speak about some of these things when some of the players are still there and give them an opportunity to respond and give their version of events.”
Mudavadi’s sentiments will definitely rattle the ODM faithful.
