Treasury Cabinet Secretary Ukur Yatani seems to have rubbed Kenyans the wrong way after the revealed that KES 40 billion had already been channeled into the fight against coronavirus otherwise known as covid-19.

On Wednesday, Yatani told members of the legislative house that KES 1 billion had been disbursed for hiring health workers and KES 1.5 billion to the National Intelligence Service to boost their operations to help in contact and case tracing.

The CS also stated that KES 10 billion in tax refund and another KES 10 billion for the cash transfers for the elderly and vulnerable persons.

In addition, the former Marsabit governor also lay it bare that KES 13 billion had been disbursed to support Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and payment of pending bills.
