Fifty-one new cases of covid-19 have been confirmed in Kenya after the country tested a total of 1,993 samples in the last 24 hours.
Addressing the press on Tuesday afternoon from Afya House, Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe revealed that of the new cases the youngest is two years old while the eldest is 63.
The CS says 23 out of 47 counties have at least a single case of coronavirus which is slightly less than half of Kenya.
Worse of 83.2% of the overall cases have been confirmed in the two counties of Nairobi (470) and Mombasa (331), Kagwe says.
Twenty-two more persons have since been discharged from hospital after winning the battle against the virus taking the country’s recovery toll to 358.
Kenya now has 963 confirmed cases of covid-19 and 50 fatalities.
