According to Nancy Macharia led commission, the 52 have been under its radar undergoing disciplinary grilling by the commission since July 2019 to December 2020.

Reports indicate that the majority of the teachers found guilty were male owing to cases of sexual misconduct with leaners. In 2020, at the begining not the pandemic, cases of teenage pregnancies were on rise as children found themselves home due to school closure as a measure to curb spread of Coronavirus.
This comes in a period where Education Cabinet Secretary George Magoha recently announced that 27 KCSE exam officers had been fired following their aid in examination irregularities. Others found and charged were 35 civilians.

The education CS also noted during release of KCPE results that the teachers who aided irregularities and cheating in the concluded national examination will be punished. Contrary to previous times, candidates and students found cheating will receive their results but teachers held accountable.
While schools are closed , the resumption of normal learning activities is scheduled for 10th May.
