As the world celebrates the World lovers day popularly known as Valentine Days, it was a big relieve to more than 120 prisoners at the Eldoret Men Prison after being shown love and care from the Samaritans.

This is after Good Samaritans, a group led by Alfred Omondi game to terms to bail them out, as a show of love to those members who are behind the bars and could not be freed due to lack of money to pay their fines.
They also received 1000 blankets and around 100 shaving machines which they will start life with once they leave the jails.
George Otieno, one of the prisoners could not hide his gratitude as he says this shows them how they are valued and important people in the society.
“We feel so happy to have a such ceremony at this center and we say thank to our officers to allow this to happen, we also feel appreciated from those outside”.

One of the organizers, Moses Otieno during the interview said this act is meant to show compassionate and concern to this people, reducing the stigma people have towards those inmates just as the holy book dictates.

While confirming the celebrations, an officer as well as a chaplain attending to the prisoners Partrick Kiboi, urged people not to neglect inmates at the lockups and instead show them love and support them.
“Jailbirds have been abandoned for a very long time, but now we are seeing changes. God has come with a unique way of showing love to them, through this Samaritan who have thought of those in culprits”.
February 14 is marked world wide differently according to norms and believe with main taking the opportunity to show their loved ones, parents, friends how special they are.

Valentine’s Day, also called the Feast of Saint Valentine is recognized as a significant cultural, religious, and commercial celebration of romance and romantic love in many regions around the world.
