Kenya has recorded 21 more cases of covid-19 raising the country’s confirmed cases to 758.
All the positive cases confirmed in the last 24 hours are all Kenyans after the country tested 1486 samples.
In a daily covid-19 media briefing at Afya House on Thursday afternoon, Health Chief Administrative Secretary Dr. Mercy Mwangangi revealed that of the cases, four were truck drivers who tested positive at the Namanga border.
The cases are spread in the counties of Mombasa, Nairobi, Kajiado and Uasin Gishu; 14 being male patients while seven. The youngest patient ins seven while the oldest is 79 years.
Mombasa lead in the number of new infections with 12 cases, Nairobi and Kajiado have four each while Uasin Gishu recorded one case.
Likoni (5), Mvita (4), Jomvu (2) and Nyali (1) account for the 12 cases in Mombasa, Kajiado’s cases are at the Namanga border point (3) and in Loitoktok (1), Kibra and Eastleigh in Nairobi have recorded two cases each while Uasin Gishu’s single case was recorded in Turbo.
Two more patients have succumbed to the disease in Nairobi raising the fatalities to 42 as recoveries rose to 284 after three more persons were discharged after shaking off the virus.
