Kenya has reported its first coronavirus-related death after a 66-year old man passed on at the Aga Khan Hospital.

Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe broke the news on Thursday evening via a press release sent to news rooms.

“The patient died at the Aga Khan Hospital Thursday afternoon (March 26), where he was placed at the intensive care unit,” said Health minister Mutahi Kagwe.

“The man was suffering from diabetes arrived in the country on March 13 from South Africa via Swaziland,” read part of the press statement issued by Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe.

The incident comes barely a day after the president announced enforcement of 7pm to 5am curfew starting Friday . The total confirmed cases of Covid-19 patients as of today stands at 31.
