Tanzania has confirmed 84 new cases of coronavirus infections. Monday’s confirmation by the country’s minister of Health Ummy Mwalimu takes the tally to 254, second in East Africa behind neighbours Kenya who have recorded 281 cases so far.
The new infections have been recorded in Dar es Salaam (33), Zanzibar (23) Arusha (4), Dodoma (3), Mwanza (3), Mbeya (3), Kilimanjaro (3), Pwani (3), Tanga (3), Manyara (2), Ruvuma (2), Morogoro (2), Rukwa (2), Mtwara (1), Lindi (1), Kagera (1) and Mara (1).
All the reported cases are in stable condition except four who are under close monitoring.
The East African nation has so far reported three deaths from covid-19, all in Dar es Salaam.
The virus has so far infected over 2.4 million people in the world, claiming at least 165,000 lives with 637,000+ recoveries being reported.
