Former Independent Electoral and Boundary Commission (IEBC) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Ezra Chiloba has been appointed as the new Director-General of the Communications Authority of Kenya (CA) for a term of four years.
Through a statement issued on Tuesday by the authority’s board chairman Kembi Gitura, Chiloba’s appointment begins immediately.
The 42-year-old left the IEBC role in 2018 following series of accusations after the 2017 presidential results.
He will serve for a term of four years and replaces Francis Wangusi who occupied the position since 2012.
Chiloba was picked from a pool of competitive candidates thanks to his experience and impressive academics record.
He hold an undergraduate degree in Law from the University of Nairobi, a Master of Arts degree from Central European University in Hungary and a Master of Science degree in Program Management from University of Oxford in the United Kingdom.
Prior to his appointment, CAK was under the Mrs Mercy Wanjau, MBS who had been acting in the position of Director General of the Authority.
