An extra billion from last financial year’s allocation, that is the extend of the financial muscles of the Ministry of Sports, Arts and Culture as proposed by National Treasury and Planning Cabinet Secretary Ukur Yatani.
The ministry which is headed by Ambassador Amina Mohamed was allocated 15 billion shillings by Yatani as he tabled the 2021-2022 national budget before parliament on Thursday afternoon.

Of the 15 billion shillings, 90 million shillings is set to go to the refurbishment of regional stadia in the country.
The allocation to the Sports Fund has been on a steady increase, the ministry having been allocated 5.3 billion shillings in the 2019/2020 budget.
The Sports ministry has been allocated Ksh.15 billion by the Treasury Cabinet Secretary Ukur Yatani in the 2021/22 financial year.
The amount is an increase of 1 billion from previous Ksh.14billion that had been allocated the docket in the 2020/2021 budget.

Even as the allocation continues to balloon, questions on the utilization of the funds arise.
For instance, one would ask how the 14 billion shillings allocated in the last financial year was utilized and if this year’s 15 billion shillings’ allocation will potent anything better.
