Gor Mahia served Kakamega Homeboyz perfect revenge by clobbering them 3-0 at the Moi Stadium in Kisumu on Thursday after the latter’s chairman Cleophas Shimanyula had taken a jibe at K’Ogalo.
The outspoken Shimanyula was sarcastic on Gor’s international break friendly with Libyan giants Al Hilal SC Benghazi in Egypt, warning them of the impeding defeat when the two sides face off when the league resumes.
“Even if they go to America and come back, we will beat them, even if they travel to London to play against Arsenal, we will still beat them. We are waiting for them and we will teach them a soccer lesson.
Gor chairman Ambrose Rachier howver chose not to hit back insisting his side will do the talking on the pitch, and after the final whistle in Kisumu, Gor had talked, much louder than expected.
Shimanyula hammered and humbled, much to the ado of Homeboyz faithful who sing and dance to his tune.
A similar case being exhibited by Wazito FC owner Ricardo Badoer who took to twitter to send a warning to their rivals, days to the inception of the 2019/2020 KPL season.
“Teargaaaaaaas!!! We will be making other clubs cry like sad babies that need their diapers changed,” the Dubai-based billionaire charged.
Ten games into the season, the team has only managed two wins, sharing spoils on four occasions and coming out second best in four other matches- a return that has already cost two coaches their jobs- Fred Ambani and Melis Medo.
We have bags of confidence to rant and take digs, but one would ask, do we too have bags of ability?
