KTN News Swahili anchor Zubeda Kananu was on Saturday elected Vice President of Kenya Editors’ Guild (KEG) during the annual general meeting.

The ever smiling news anchor was among the new faces to land positions at the Editors’ Guild along with Citizen TV business editor Joseph Bonyo who was elected as a member of the council.

Churchil Otieno, the head of learning and development at Nation Media Group, retained his position as the president of KEG.

The Kenya Editors’ Guild is the professional association for editors in Kenya, which comprises of senior print editors, broadcast and online editors, and scholars of journalism and media studies.

The newly elected leaders of association and its members have committed themselves to defend and promote media freedom.

The other Council members elected include; Ruth Nesoba for radio, Linda Bach representing print, Prof George Nyabuga for matters Academia.

Pamella Sittoni, Arthur Okwemba and Masai Martin Ndei will be associations’ trustees.
