Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has been airlifted to Nairobi to answer to the graft allegations levelled against him, at the Anti-corruption Commissions headquarters.
Sonko was arrested in Voi, shortly after the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Noordin Haji ordered for his immediate arrest and prosecution over the loss of Sh 357million of county funds.
In a video that has gone viral, the Nairobi County boss is seen at Ikanga Airstrip resisting boarding a plane to Wilson Airport, Nairobi.
At some point, engages the officers in a heated verbal exchange, pushes and shoves more than five officers in what was seen as resisting arrest.
He however landed at Wilson Airoprt in nIraoni a few minutes after 2PM and was driven direct to the Integrity center for grilling.
The DPP says Sonko is also set to be questioned over unlawful acquisition of property and money laundering, among other economic crimes.
