Employees of broadcasting giant Royal Media Services were on Friday confronted with unwanted, after the media house made known plans to scale down its workforce; all this attributed to difficult business conditions presented by the novel coronavirus.
A memo by managing director Wachira Waruru says among the drastic measures the company will take is to have its employees proceed to accrued leave days as well as take a 20% and 30% pay cut depending on the work role of each employee
“with effect from 1st April, each employee will be subjected to gross salary pay cut based on their job level”. Read part of the memo
Further, the Millimani based media stations will see the remaining employees work in shifts in order to comply with the government regulations to combat Covid-19 spread.
