Safaricom has announced that it will shut down some of its services this weekend between Saturday 24th April 2021 10pm and 9 am Sunday the 25th April 2021.
This comes at a time when the network provider looks to expand their capacity to support new customers and support innovations. Safaricom boasts of the widest coverage of 4G network in the country.
The network service provider also enrolled 5G network in the country a couple of weeks ago, becoming the second provider to achieve the fete in Africa. It is estimated that excess of 35 million Kenyans are connected to the network.
The services expected to be interrupted include top up, tariff migration, Sim swap and activation of new lines. The giant telecommunications company announced on Friday noon that they regret the inconvenience caused and reiterated that quality services willresume by Sunday morning.
Safaricom subscribers will still be able to access Mpesa, voice call, text messaging and internet services.
Safaricom subscribers are therefore urged to purchase enough airtime to take them through Saturday night and Sunday morning.
