Standard group employees are the latest set of employees to be subjected to salary reduction due to continued business decline.

The employees received a memo today Tuesday stipulating the new measures the company intends to take in abid to stay a float this pandemic times.

In the Memo undersigned by Std Group CEO Orlando Lyomu, the consolidated salary reductions will see employees earning ksh 100000 suffer a 20% reduction while those whose salary is above ksh 100000, will see 25% of their salary scrapped off.

“Due to continued effects of Covid-19 and the reduced levels of operations, it has become necessary to request staffs to proceed on leave with exemption of those whose services will be actively engaged” read an excerpt from the memo

The continued spread of Covid-19 virus in the country which has since seen 172 people declared infected has forced the government to take serious measures that has affected the normalcy in business operations.

The government on Monday announcement a movement cessation within Nairobi metropolitan. The 21 day cessation bars movement into and outside Nairobi.
